Hi, I’m Yuno — welcome.

I’m an Austrian-Japanese visual artist, and I live just outside Zurich, surrounded by lakes, mountains and a lot of changing light.

Light has always been my thing. For many years I worked as a gemologist, holding diamonds and pearls up to the window and watching what light does inside them — how it bends, glows and dances across a surface. I loved it, and I didn’t realise I was quietly training my eye for everything I do now.

Today I create immersive visual worlds, still and moving: underwater sanctuaries made of mother-of-pearl, quiet passages of blush marble, gardens floating on water. Places that feel familiar and a little impossible at the same time.

More than anything, I want my work to feel like a deep breath. A place to pause, stay a little longer and let your mind wander somewhere beautiful — whether it’s on a screen in a hotel lobby, on the wall of a boutique, or in your own home.

Each world grows slowly, through a lot of looking, choosing and refining, with digital and generative tools in my hands and a lifetime of fascination with material and light behind it.

I’m also a featured artist on Niio, the platform for digital art on screens, where selected moving works can be streamed and collected. Some works I create exclusively for Sedition, where they are released as limited digital editions.
